Automotive
Automotive compounds from engine bay to battery
Glass-filled nylon, POM, PBT, PP and alloys for OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. Automotive accounts for 42% of our revenue.
Cars ask more of a compound than most applications. Under-hood parts see continuous heat, glycol and vibration. Exterior parts see sun and stone chips. Interior parts must look right for years. We formulate for each condition, starting from 45 published grades across seven families and adapting them to your drawing.
Our compounds already go into cylinder-head covers, acoustic and NVH components and air-vent H-vanes. Each recipe, process window and batch is controlled in our ERP and traced to your shipment. Material is tested on arrival, during production and before dispatch.
What the parts need
-
Under-hood heat
Heat-stabilised and semi-aromatic polyamides hold stiffness near engines, coolant circuits and power electronics.
-
Dimensional stability
High glass content keeps sealing faces, clips and housings within tolerance through thermal cycles.
-
Metal replacement
Glass- and carbon-fibre nylons take over from metal brackets and housings at lower part weight.
-
UV and colour
UV-stabilised PP, ABS and PC/ABS for sun-exposed parts, colour-matched to your master by spectrophotometer.
Typical parts
- Cylinder-head covers
- Air-intake manifolds
- Radiator end tanks
- Acoustic and NVH covers
- Air-vent H-vanes
- Bumper fascias
- Mirror housings
- Gear-shift mechanisms
- Battery module frames
- Charging inlets
Questions buyers ask
How do you keep quality consistent from batch to batch?
We are certified to ISO 9001:2015. Material is tested on arrival, in process and before dispatch, and recipes, process windows and batch genealogy are controlled in our ERP, traced to the shipment.
What happens between enquiry and supply?
Your request leads to a trial formulation in 48-72 hours, a lab batch on our 75 kg/hr R&D line, an industrial trial on a production line and then your approval. Supply follows with batch genealogy traced to the shipment.
Can you develop an alternative to a grade we use today?
Yes, as a development project. Send the current datasheet, the part drawing and what must improve. We formulate against those targets, test in our laboratory and send samples for your validation. Between 70% and 80% of our development projects convert to regular supply.
Send us your part
Share the drawing, the current material and the target properties. A materials engineer reviews every request, and a trial formulation follows in 48-72 hours.
